First study graphs
In the first study we tested whether a subliminally presented symbol flashed on neutral masks would interfere with subjects' subsequent rating of that symbol. Here the mean ranks for the 10 possible symbols are presented graphically. The symbol presented subliminaly was symbol number 7. As can be seen it got a higher score in the experimental condition (meaning that the subjects liked it less than in the control condition).. The effect was significant (see here). None of the not-presented symbols differed in appraisal between experimental and control groups. Below is also the table that generated the graph.
